WATCH: Gracenote performs ‘Respeto’ on Rappler Live Jam
Because, as the band's members note, love isn't always enough

MANILA, Philippines – Fresh off a series of exciting collaborations and in the midst of working on their 3rd album to date, Filipino pop-punk group Gracenote is coming out with a new single titled “Respeto.”

The foursome performed “Respeto” live during their second appearance on Rappler Live Jam Monday evening, June 18.

“Respect is one of the greatest expressions of love, so it’s underrated,” said Eunice Jorge, the group’s lead vocalist.

“Naniniwala ako na sa isang relationship (I believe that in a relationship), love is not enough. We all need to respect each other,” added bassist Jazz Jorge. Eunice said “Respeto” is among Jazz’s favorite songs to date.

It’s also been a favorite of both fans and friends – and we fully understand why.

The slow tempo jam perfectly evokes the hypnotizing and intoxicating feeling of love – be it the initial throes of falling in love (Boses ko ba’y sapat para ikaw ay sumaya / O pati mga gitara dapat ko bang mapakanta / Dapat ko bang mapakanta) or the steadiness of a love that’s aged perfectly (Tanging ikaw ang hinahanap / Sabik na makayakap / Buhay ko’y sa iyo / Respeto / Habang buhay aalalay / Anumang nadarama, iyong iyo / Respeto).

According to Gracenote, the music video for “Respeto” will be out real soon. But for now, listen to them perform it live on Rappler. Tell us what you think! – Rappler.com
