
MANILA, Philippines – The partial lineup of artists for Malasimbo 2015 was announced Thursday, January 22 in a press conference.
The festival continues its two-pronged approach – it celebrates musical talent and highlights the importance of environmental awareness.
In 2014, it was reported to have had more than 5,000 attendees coming from over 30 countries. (READ: Review: Malasimbo Arts and Music Festival 2014)
In celebration of its 5th anniversary, the celebrations are spread out over two weekends, with each chock-full of musical celebrations and festivities against the beautiful background of Puerto Galera, Mindoro.
The first weekend, which runs from March 6-8, aims to gather the loyal attendees of the festival. Ky-Mani Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley, will be among the artists to play.
The second weekend, which runs from March 13-15, hosts the Malasimbo Lights and Dance Festival. This is a first for the festival. Hiphop, house, and electronic music will be in the spotlight, along with dance performances and light shows.
