Journey frontman Arnel Pineda and ONE OK ROCK vocalist Taka Moriuchi brought their powerhouse vocals together in one video as they sang Journey's classic rock power ballad "Open Arms."
The video was posted by Arnel on his YouTube channel on September 14. In the caption, he said that he and Taka decided to perform the song "to honor the legacy of Journey's Escape album."
Escape was released in July 1981, with "Open Arms" released as a single in January 1982. The song was also included in the soundtrack of the 1981 sci-fi fantasy film Heavy Metal, and has since become one of Journey's most memorable hits.
Arnel joined Journey in December 2007, after Journey founding member and guitarist Neal Schon saw videos of his band The Zoo doing Journey covers on YouTube and invited him to audition for the band.
ONE OK ROCK is a Japanese rock band that first came together in 2005. The band has performed in Manila twice, and were set to return in May 2020, but postponed due to the cornavirus pandemic. – Rappler.com
