Up10tion’s Bitto, Kogyeol test positive for COVID-19

Bitto and Kogyeol, members of the K-pop group Up10tion, have tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, his agency TOP Media said that Bitto tested positive on Monday, November 30. The following day, December 1, TOP Media said Kogyeol had also tested positive for the virus.

The group’s other members – Kuhn, Gyujin, Hwanhee, Sunyoul, and Xiao – tested negative.

TOP Media said that their employees and staff – even those who did not come in close contact with Up10tion – have also been tested. The rest of the group and their manager will be self-isolating despite testing negative for the virus and exhibiting no symptoms, TOP Media said.

The group performed on the shows Music Core and Inkigayo TV on November 28 and 29, alongside other acts who were then tested for the virus.

Among the artists who underwent preemptive testing include newly-launched girl group aespa, boy groups NCT and BTOB 4U, and pop rock band CNBLUE.

As of posting, no other agency has reported artists or staff testing positive for the virus.
