Coldplay and BTS have finally released their highly anticipated collaborative single “My Universe.”

Coldplay posted the official galaxy-themed lyric video of the new pop track on their YouTube page on on Friday, September 24. The video features handwritten lyrics from both groups, in English and Korean.

The upbeat adds an EDM twist to Coldplay’s synth-rock style and BTS’s dance-pop sound in a track with lyrics that exalt a loved one.

The track, first teased by the groups on September 13, is part of Coldplay’s upcoming album Music of the Spheres.

“My Universe” is the first collaboration between Coldplay and the seven-member BTS. But the two groups have crossed paths – at least musically – before.

In February 2021, BTS performed a cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” for MTV Unplugged Presents: BTS.

The two groups are among the biggest musical acts in the world. Coldplay – Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion, and creative director Phil Harvey – was formed in 1996 and first shot to fame with the release of the song “Yellow.” They released their first album Parachutes in 2000.

BTS – Jin, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – debuted in 2013 and rose to international fame years later in 2017. They’ve since topped records across different platforms and is considered among the biggest pop acts today. –
