MANILA, Philippines – Australian rock band 5 Seconds of Summer played an electrifying sold-out concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, March 12. The show was part of the band’s Sounds Live Feels Live world tour.

The four-man band, composed of Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin, delivered a show packed with a lot of guitar-shredding and drum kit-pounding action. The jam-packed arena turned into a wall of sound from fans singing along.

“I feel like we’ve been to the Philippines for a long time… I’m sorry it took so long,” said Luke, between songs that night.

The boys started the night with “Hey Everybody,” getting their Manila fans jumping and screaming at the arena.

After performing “Money” and “Disconnected,” 5 Seconds of Summer got the crowd going with their hit song, “Don’t Stop.”

“I have a question: does this sound good? Does it feel good?” asked frontman Luke Hemmings in between “Heartbreak on the Big Screen” and “Waste the Night.” Luke was playing off of their sophomore album’s title, Sounds Good Feels Good.

The boys had the crowd singing along with them all through the night. It wasn’t just the audience having fun, though. Bassist Calum said the Manila concert was one of the best shows he’s ever played at. He said it again after the concert through a tweet.

As Calum crooned “Amnesia,” the Mall of Asia Arena was lit up with the glow of phones in the air.

Right before the encore, band got the crowd pumping with their cover of The Romantics’ “What I Like About You” (1980).

5 Seconds of Summer ended their high-energy concert with “She’s Kinda Hot” and “She Looks So Perfect” before signing off.
