YouTube stars Leroy Sanchez, Sam Tsui, Kurt Hugo Schneider, more to hold Manila concert

MANILA, Philippines – Ovation Productions announced that some very popular musicians who grew their careers via YouTube are coming to Manila for a concert on July 9 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

According to a press release, artists confirmed to perform are Leroy Sanchez, Max Schneider, Sam Tsui, Kurt Hugo Schneider, and Australian band At Sunset.

Here’s a quick profile of the artists: 

Leroy Sanchez – Leroy started his career at the age of 15 years old when he posted his first video on YouTube. He has since posted 70 videos with close to 34 million YouTube views. Among the artists he’s covered are Bonnie Raitt, Rihanna, Frank Ocean and more.

 

 

Max Schneider – Max began performing at the age of 14 years old. Raised in Woodstock, New York, Max was part of the Broadway musical 13 as a swing understudy from 2008 and 2009. He also modeled with Madonna in a Dolce and Gabbana ad and toured with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Wiz Khalifa and Hoodie Allen on the Boys of Zummer Tour last June 2015. 

 

Sam Tsui – Sam is no stranger to Filipino fans, having come to Manila with his good friend, the producer Kurt Hugo Schneider in 2014. According to a press release, Sam has amassed over 500 million hits on Youtube alone, with every new release he makes, including his 2013 debut original album “Make It Up.” Sam has also appeared on shows such as The Ellen Show, The Oprah Show, and was featured in magazines such as Entertainment Weekly, and In Style magazine.  (In Photos: Sam Tsui, Kurt Hugo Schneider arrive in Manila)

Kurt Hugo Schneider – Like Sam, it won’t be Kurt’s first time in Manila. A composer, music producer, and director, Kurt has worked with some of today’s popular YouTube stars including Sam, Max Schneider, Against The Current, Alex Goot, and many more.  

 

At Sunset – Hailing from Adelaide, Australia, At Sunset is composed of brothers Harrison and Andrew Kantarias, and their good friend. Tom Jay Williams. According to the press release, Harrison explained the name of the group.

“The name is a metaphor for our feelings towards music. We like to be upbeat, positive, and really just enjoying life. Playing music, sunsets, beaches, pools, girls in bikinis… it doesn’t get better than that, does it?”  Harrison said.

Since getting together, At Sunset has gotten millions of views on their YouTube videos with more than 200,000 Twitter followers and 1,247,003 Facebook likes as of posting.
