Paramore postpones Manila concert to August 2018
(UPDATED) The band makes the announcement on their Facebook page

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Paramore has postponed their Manila and Jakarta concerts due to the illness of vocalist Hayley Williams.

In a Facebook post addressed to the band’s followers in Manila and Jakarta, Williams said that she has been “fighting a throat and upper respiratory infection for the last 2 days.”

“It’s a pretty nasty sickness but if I would’ve been able to get my voice to come through for me, the guys and I would’ve done the show tonight anyway,” she said. “Unfortunately my throat hasn’t loosened up and the rest of my symptoms have only gotten worse.”

She then announced that the band will be going to Manila on August 23, and are working with promoters to finalize their return to Indonesia.

“We’ve been looking forward to coming back to Indonesia since our first trip in 2011. The people who’ve built a community around the support of our music here are so special,” she said. “And we were so ready to get back to Manila because every show we’ve played for our Filipino friends has been a wild time.”

“We’re coming back for you so please hang on ’til August,” she added.

The band is currently in Jakarta and was initially scheduled to perform at the Mall of Asia Arena on February 18, 2018, as part of their “Tour Four.”

Paramore, composed of vocalist Hayley Williams, drummer Zac Farro, and guitarist Taylor York, rose to fame in the mid-2000s with songs like “Pressure” and “Misery Business.”

They recently released their 5th studio album, After Laughter, with “Hard Times” as the lead single.
