MANILA, Philippines – Jazz musicians David Benoit, Rey Parker Jr., Kevyn Lettau, and Jonathan Butler, along with keyboardist Brian Simpson, arrived in Manila on January 30 for the Heal Our Land happening on January 31 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Heal Our Land will serve as a benefit concert for the survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), which devastated provinces in Central Visayas last November 2013. According to organizers, the idea for the benefit was born out of the artists’ desire to reach out to those affected by the calamity.

Benoit personally reached out to concert producers in the Philippines. Soon after, other musicians joined in creating an all-star jazz event, with Jonathan Butler’s ’90s single “Heal Our Land” as the inspiration for the title.

Members of the LA All-Star Band are also part of the program.
