One of them is Timmy Pavino, whom Lea Salonga mentored on 'The Voice PH 2'

MANILA, Philippines – It’s not every day one gets to sing with the great Idina Menzel – so when the opportunity arrives, seize it!

That was good advice from Idina herself as she chose 3 audience members to sing “Take Me Or Leave Me” with her, from the musical Rent.

One of those whom she chose was Timmy Pavino, a semi-finalist from season 2 of The Voice of the Philippines, and who was mentored by Broadway star and Tony Award-winner Lea Salonga. (RELATED: Idina Menzel sings Filipino version of ‘Let It Go’ at PH concert)

“It was completely spontaneous, I guess you just have to take it at the moment, you know,” Timmy told Rappler after the show.

“She just told me, she whispered in my ear that I have an amazing voice. And I just can’t believe that that came from her, a Tony award winner telling me that.”

Idina got all 3 viewers, who all sounded great, up onstage with her to sing the final notes to the song, with a flourish. ([LISTEN] Idina Menzel: Take risks, remain vulnerable)

Timmy posted the photo above on Instagram “That moment when you sing with Idina Menzel… #IdinaMenzel, thank you so much for being so kind! You’re gorgeous! #amazing,” he wrote in the caption accompanying the photo above.
