The K-pop group member was struck in the face with a golf club

MANILA, Philippines – Bomin from K-pop group Golden Child is taking a break from band activities due to a facial fracture, according to a statement released by agency Woollim Entertainment. 

According to a Soompi report, statement said Bomin was struck in the face by a wood golf club wielded by another person during a practice golf session on Wednesday, September 28. 

After an extensive medical examination, it was decided that surgery for the facial fracture would be necessary. After which, Bomin will undergo rehabilitation treatment to recover from the injury. 

Because of these medical procedures, Bomin will not be able to participate in activities for the boy band in the meantime. The agency promised that it would update fans on Bomin’s schedule in the future. 

Choi Bo-min, better known as Bomin, is a member of the South Korean boy band Golden Child. The band was formed in 2017 by Woollim Entertainment, and consists of ten members. Golden Child is known for releasing K-Pop songs “WANNABE” and “Replay,” among others.

Golden Child is scheduled to perform in the Philippines as part of the I-POP U 22 concert on October 21. – with reports from Manolo Soliven/Rappler.com
