Rappler Talk: Arnel Pineda on virtual concerts, quarantine creativity

What is life like for a rock star without a stage? As it turns out, it's become something of a creative renaissance – at least for Journey frontman Arnel Pineda, who while in quarantine has been making a lot of music – both for Journey, and for himself.

The pandemic has barely slowed the singer down – he's written and recorded quite a number of songs while in lockdown, and is also making plans for a virtual concert in early 2021.

In this Rappler Talk, entertainment and lifestyle reporter Amanda Lago chats with Arnel about how his songwriting creativity was affected by the quarantine, and how he continues to record songs for Journey and for his solo project, even from home.

We also talk about his upcoming Christmas release, and he shares his big plans for a virtual live concert, which involves the building of a geodesic dome among other things, as a way to innovate pandemic-era concerts.
