Rappler Talk: Ben&Ben on using music for good

Even in a pandemic, Ben&Ben has managed to keep making music, giving their listeners a sense of peace and comfort in an increasingly exhausting world.

The folk-pop band has kept busy during quarantine, releasing several new songs and music videos, most recently for their single “‘Di Ka Sayang,” which marks a new era for the band’s sound.

Beyond making music though, Ben&Ben seems intent on also making the world a better place. In the beginning of the pandemic, they started Puhon, a fundraiser for teachers and students affected by the new distance learning set up. They’ve also been using their reach to amplify causes that they feel strongly about.

In this interview, we talk to Ben&Ben about using their music to do some good, and what they think it means to be artists in times of crisis.
