Joy is the second Red Velvet member to release a solo album

Red Velvet’s Joy is debuting as a solo artist this May, SM Entertainment announced on Monday, May 17. 

On their social media accounts, Red Velvet revealed that Joy’s album will be entitled Hello. It will be released on May 31, with pre-orders starting on May 17. 

They added that it is a “remake album for listeners regardless of generations.” According to Soompi, Hello will contain six tracks that are remakes of hits released between the 1990s and 2000s. 

Prior to this upcoming solo album, Joy also took part in several original soundtrack projects for Korean dramas like Hospital Playlist, Tempted and The Liar and His Lover. The 25-year-old singer also acted in dramas Tempted and The Liar and His Lover.

Joy is the second Red Velvet member to launch a career as a solo artist this 2021 after Wendy released her debut mini-album Like Water in March. 

Since their debut in 2014, Red Velvet has released numerous hits like “Red Flavor,” “Power Up,” and “Psycho.” – Rappler.com
