The EP will contain 4 tracks, including their recent single 'Karaoke Machine'

Indie pop band Us-2 Evil-0 is releasing a new EP on November 30, the 11th year anniversary of their debut album.

The upcoming EP Filthy Finishers will contain 4 songs: carrier single “Karaoke Machine” released in October, the upcoming second single “Semper Fi” which will launch alongside the EP, and additional tracks “Talk All Night” and “Time Bomb.”

The band shared that the songs on the EP reflect how they’ve grown up through the years.

“It’s interesting growing up with your band because you see how you change as people! Like, I think I was a lot pettier and dramatic as a bandmate in the past, but in the same way it’s hilarious that some of that still stays no matter how old you get,” said co-vocalist Mich Dulce.

Guitarist and keyboardist Wincy Ong added: “Writing the album was so much fun, to be honest! The back-and-forth between Quark was something I truly missed. The lyrics are more mature now as all of us were reaching 40 during the making of the album. There’s a lot of nostalgia, regret, and introspection in the lyrics.”

For the EP’s sound, the band reunited with producer Mikey Amistoso, frontman for Ciudad and Hana and Gabi.

According to Mikey, the EP will feature a “more refined” sound.

“Gone are the days of Quark (Henares, co-vocalist) and Mich’s cutesy patootsie onstage dance moves complete with hand hearts, now replaced with confused looks in their faces as they struggle to understand what’s happening to the world around them. Evil seems to be leading by 2 now!”

Bassist Nix Puno mused on the band’s reunion after all these years: “I had actually forgotten how easy it was…. I think we were rusty for a couple of songs. After that, it was all familiar na (already). I remember while running through ‘Karaoke Machine’ for the first time, I stopped playing halfway through just to listen to where everyone was. And yeah, it was the same as before.”

Mich Dulce added: “All in all, I think we have the same dynamic and enjoy each other and still have the best time no matter how long it’s been, so that’s just a great thing to maintain in over a decade of making music and performing together.”

The band is made up of Mich, Wincy, Quark, Nix, and drummer Bogs Jugo. They released their debut album Dirty Debutantes in 2009, and have since become known for their signature boy-girl vocals and catchy tunes. – Rappler.com
