Actress Neri Miranda offered to help a Cebu couple allegedly scammed on their wedding day.

A video of bride Cherry Pie Purisima crying on her wedding day went viral on Thursday, September 23.

According to local newspaper Cebu Daily News, after her church wedding in Minglanilla town, Purisima and her partner Arniel Satingasin arrived at the venue of their reception in Cebu City, only to be told by staff there that no event had been booked.

Bilang naging bride din ako, ang pinakaayaw natin ay ma-stress sa mismong kasal natin. Kahit lahat ng tao sa paligid natin, ‘di tayo dapat binibigyan ng stress,” Miranda said in a Facebook post on Thursday evening.

(As someone who was once a bride, I know that what we don’t want is to be stressed on our wedding day. Even the people around us should not give us stress.)

Kung sino po ang nakakakilala sa bride, pakisabi po, message po ako. Kami na bahala sa reception niya,” Miranda added.

(Whoever knows the bride, please tell her to message me. We will take care of the reception.)

The actress and wife of Parokya Ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda – who owns Korean restaurant chain Jeju Samgyupsal – also offered to give the couple pocket money, a cake, and an emcee.

Miranda said the restaurant in Cebu City can hold a small reception with a maximum capacity of 20 people due to COVID-19 restrictions.

According to a Manila Bulletin report, the coordinator was with the couple earlier during the wedding but disappeared after he left the couple to supposedly set up the reception venue.

Purisima said she had already paid the coordinator P65,000. The coordinator was later found in Consolacion town north of Cebu City, where authorities said he tried to hurt himself.

He was arrested after being treated for his injuries.

Miranda first entered show business through the talent show Star Circle Quest in 2004. She owns several businesses, including skincare clinics, restaurants, and a sleepwear/bedding line. – Rappler.com
