MANILA, Philippines – Sam Concepcion told reporters at the Your Face Sounds Familiar press conference on September 3 that ex-girlfriend Jasmine Curtis-Smith will always be special to him.

Sam stars in the second season of the reality competition, which will start airing on September 12.

After his breakup, Sam said he’s not looking for another relationship at the moment. “Right now I’m career-focused, Excited ako sa ginagaawa ko ngayon.” (I’m excited about what I’m doing right now.)

Aside from Your Face, Sam is also on ABS-CBN’s ASAP 20 and filming another TV series. He is set to have a concert in October and plans on working on his album after the concert.

Sam also said that Jasmine will always be special to him, even though they aren’t together anymore.  

“Of course, she [Jasmine] will always remain special to me, always.” 

“Kung mahilig ka sa isang bagay diba… it’s part of you na,” he said. (If you really like something, it becomes part of you.)

When asked if he wants to move on to other relationships, he answered, “Hindi naman basta-basta – hindi mo naman matatanggal sa sarili mo eh. It’s like parang may tatanggalin ka sa personality mo, hindi ganun eh, I don’t think it works that way.” (READ: Sam Concepcion says all’s well with Anne Curtis)

(You can’t just – you can’t remove that from yourself. It’s like removing something from your personality, it’s not like that, I don’t think it works that way.)

Sam also said that he takes all the rumors he hears about Jasmine seeing other guys “with a grain of salt.” “Kasi di naman natin alam kung – ‘di ba minsan gumagawa lang talaga ang mga tao ng mga ingay para may mapag-usapan lang, para may mga tao na masaktan. Ako, alam ko na hindi dapat ako madadala sa mga ganoong bagay. And ako, kilala ko naman siya eh.“

(Because we don’t know if – sometimes people say things just to have something to talk about, or just so other people will get hurt. I know that I shouldn’t be carried away by those kinds of things. And I know her.)

Despite the breakup, Sam said that he has no hard feelings for anyone. “Everything happens for a reason, and timing is everything,” he said.

Sam refused to comment on the rumors that Jasmine’s sister, Anne Curtis, embarrassed him at a party in 2014. “Hindi na naman kailangang itanong ‘yan kasi matagal na ‘yan at hindi na kailangang ipagusapan pa,” he told reporters.
