IN PHOTOS: PH stars step out to support Grace Poe, Chiz Escudero
MANILA, Philippines – Senators Grace Poe and Chiz Escudero announced their respective bids for the 2016 elections, and their family, friends, as well as showbiz personalities, were all there to cheer them on.
Grace's presidential bid was announced at the University of the Philippines Bahay ng Alumni on September 16, while Chiz declared he would be her running mate as vice president at Club Filipino on September 17.
From Susan Roces to Heart Evangelista, here are some of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates' celebrity supporters:
Grace's mom, actress and wife of the late Fernando Poe Jr, Susan Roces, was there on both days to support her daughter. Susan and FPJ adopted Grace when she was an infant.
Chiz's wife, actress Heart Evanglista, was at Club Filipino to support him on September 17. Her mom, Baby Ongpauco, was there too. Heart said that her whole family is behind Chiz as he runs for vice-president.
Grace's sister, Lovi Poe, was there for the announcement of the Poe-Escudero tandem, with boyfriend Rocco Nacino.
TV host Tim Yap was at Club Filipino supporting Grace and Chiz.
Grace's family and friends were there during her announcement on September 16 too.
Aside from Susan, Grace's husband, Neil Llamanzares and their son, Brian Poe Llamanzares, were also at UP.
Actor Albert Martinez was there to support Grace.
Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legazpi were also at Grace's event.
Yeng Constantino performed for Grace and her supporters on September 16.
