MANILA, Philippines – TV host and singer Billy Crawford said he would rather not say too much about the ongoing comparison between Eat Bulaga‘s “AlDub” segment and It’s Showtime’s “Pastillas Girl.”

In an interview with reporters during the press conference for his new show Celebrity Playtime, Billy said he cannot speak for It’s Showtime.

“I think it’s not the right time for me or the venue na magsalita kung ano nang nangyayari sa dalawang networks (to speak what’s happening between the two networks). Especially kung hindi ko kasama ko yung mga kapatid ko sa It’s Showtime (Especially when I’m not with my It’s Showtime brothers and sisters).

“We’re just here to still enjoy what we do. Nag-eenjoy lang kami araw-araw at goal lang namin na magpapsaya ng tao (We are just enjoying everyday and our goal is to make everyone happy),” he said.

As for the tweets by Eat Bulaga host Joey de Leon, Billy said: “I can’t control what they say…hindi ko makokontrol (I can’t control)…and ako no matter what happens Tito, Vic and Joey, they are pillars of this industry. And nirerespeto ko sila (I respect them).”

Billy said that rather than trade tirades over the segments, the audience should just enjoy the shows. He also said that what is important for them is that the audience are enjoying and are happy.

AlDub is the famous tandem of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza aka Yaya Dub formed in the Juan for All, All for Juan segment of Eat Bulaga last July. Since then, the show has enjoyed much audience attention, with viewers keenly following the storyline of AlDub’s quest to be together. Pastillas Girl meanwhile is a segment on It’s Showtime, where Angelica Jane Yap aka Pastillas Girl is on the quest to find a new love after she was ditched by her boyfriend. Her experience led her to do a video online, which went on viral.

Celebrity Playtime

Meanwhile, Billy will now be seen 3 times every week with his new show Celebrity Playtime scheduled to air on Saturday, September 26.

In the show, there will be 4 members on two teams. Billy said that  they have around 40 games on the show which will vary from spelling to guessing song titles.

For this Saturday’s premiere, artists from the first season of Your Face Sounds Familiar and members of Deal or No Deal will play on the show.

Billy said that the show is very different. 

“We have over 40 games. So hindi naman concentrated sa games ‘tong show na ito. Mas makikilala n’yo pa ng maayos yung mga contestants natin (You’ll know our contestants better), ” he said.

It’s all fun, according to Billy, who said that those who easily get annoyed are not allowed. 

“Nagkakagulo lang naman sila na nag-eenjoy. Hindi naman sila nagsasakitan. Wala naman ganun. Bawal ang pikon at walang basagan ng trip,” he said. (It gets a bit chaotic but they [the contestants are] enjoying. They don’t hurt each other. People who easily get annoyed are not allowed.)

Coleen’s birthday

As for his relationship with Coleen Garcia, Billy said he’s very happy, and they plan to celebrate Coleen’s birthday on Saturday. Coleen turns 23 on Thursday, September 24.

“Ang plano namin for now is kasi sobrang busy din siya, ang plano namin actually is on Saturday is to go to Hospicio de San Juan, it’s charity na gusto niyang tulungan and mag-party doon.

(What we’re planning for now is to go to Hospicio de San Juan on Saturday, a charity she wants to help and have a party.)

“Yes, may gift ako sa kanya and meron ako slight na hinanda para sa kanya. Gusto ko na iparamdam sa kanya na na parang araw-araw birthday niya. (I have a gift for her and something special for that day. I want to make her feel that it’s her birthday everyday),” he said. 

As for plans of settling down with Coleen, Billy said: “I don’t want to put numbers sa panahon (on time) ’cause we never know pero as I said, ako, handa na ako (me, I’m ready).” – Rappler.com
