WATCH: Alden, Anne, Pauleen, Belle react to mean comments about them online
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED)– When the haters come in waves online, what can a celebrity do? Sometimes, they can answer right back.
Belle Daza's former co-hosts at Eat Bulaga – Pia Guanio, Pauleen Luna, Ruby Rodriguez and Alden Richards are the latest to read mean tweets about them on a video posted on Belle's Facebook.
Belle's friends Solenn Heussaff, Gerald Anderson, and Anne Curtis were the first batch to read mean tweets about them.
The video, created with Manila Man, is called "Haters Gonna Hate" and features the stars taking turns reading some awful comments about themselves and laughing along the way.
Haters Gonna Hate Ep. 1
We're on to you... haters! ;pIn this episode of Haters Gonna Hate, I've invited my friends Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff, and Gerald Anderson to join me in reading our haters' comments! Watch the video to find out how that went down :)Thanks so much to ManilaMan who helped me create this super fun video!Posted by Isabelle Daza on Friday, September 11, 2015
These stars are the latest in a roster of celebrities to have read mean comments about themselves online. Teen actress Kathryn Bernardo read tweets against her in a video posted by Preview magazine.
Many Hollywood stars have also read mean tweets about them online, most notably on Jimmy Kimmel's show, in the wildly popular "Mean Tweets" segment. Even President Barack Obama got in on the fun. (WATCH: Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, more read mean tweets about themselves)
Last week, Benedict Cumberbatch, George Clooney and other stars read their tweets live on the show.
The mean tweets segment helps celebrities gently answer back some of their nastiest detractors, and gives them a chance to show their lighter side. And of course, fans love to see stars they love (and hate) come face to face with comments about themselves.
