MANILA, Philippines – Piolo Pascual said that he’s very happy and grateful that Sharon Cuneta expressed regret about comments she made about him in the past. 

In an interview with reporters at a SunPiology event Tuesday, October 6, Piolo said he was very touched by what Sharon said.

“S’yempre nakakataba ng puso. But at the end of the day, tao lang naman tayong lahat. Nakakasakit tayo. Nakakasakit, nasasaktan, nagpapatawad, nag-momove on. So yung lang naman e para walang problema, mas maganda na i-promote natin yung kagandahan nung puso,” he said.

(Of course, it’s very heartwarming. But at the end of the day, we’re humans. We hurt people. We get hurt, we forgive, we move on. So there’s no problem, it would be better to promote the goodness in one’s heart.)

According to an October 5 report on Pep, Sharon said that she was happy that KC and Piolo have communicated after their controversial breakup in 2011. She also said that previously, she voiced out her feelings because of the pain KC went through. 

“Siguro that time lang, hindi ka masasaktan kung hindi mo mahal yung tao, e,” Sharon said. (I guess at that time, you wouldn’t be hurt if you didn’t love the person.)

“So, I really treat him [Piolo] as part of the family.

“Pero tapos na yun. (But that’s finished). I’m very happy na okey na sila.”

According to a March 2012 report from ABS-CBN, Sharon tweeted:

“Since you won’t stop bashing me and my daughter and it’s all the same to you – maybe it’s time I talk and tell the whole REAL story. Okay? Tutal pareho lang eh. Tahimik kami, bash kayo nang bash. Eh di kami naman kaya!” she said. (We’re keeping quiet while you keep bashing us. What if we have our turn?)

“KC never did anything to hurt him. He hurt her. And yes, we KNOW his fans are bashing her. We never start, we just react. Be careful. Nananahimik pa kami sa lagay na yan. Tama na kasi we should all just move on,” she said. (We’re still quiet at this point. Enough already, so we should all move on.)

In another tweet, Sharon said: “He can’t say anything about KC [because] he has nothing he can say. He’s a ‘gentleman’ for his image, not necessarily [because] he doesn’t want to hurt anybody.

“Let’s be honest and fair here. If no one bashes us, we couldn’t care less about his life [because] we’ve moved on. Kawawa naman ang anak ko. ‘Di nga nagsasalita si Piolo, but his army of bashers do all the dirty work for him. We’re not bad people. But neither are we stupid.”

Reacting to news that Sharon was happy that he and KC have reconciled, Piolo also had this to say: “Sino ba naman ang ayaw nun, ‘di ba?. Napakaliit lang ng industriya natin. Napakaliit ng mundo ng showbiz para magkaroon ng away na iniiwasan. Yun ang iniiwasan ko sa lahat. Ayaw kong pumapasok sa trabaho with a heavy heart. (Who would not want that? The industry is very small. Showbiz is a small world to have enemies. That’s what I’m avoiding. I don’t want to go to work with a heavy heart.)

“So I always make sure that I am at peace with everyone sa industriyang ito because hindi natin din maiwasan na makasagasa rin, makatapak ng tao, and I always make sure that pinagdadasal ko at s’yempre hindi naman tayo perpekto, so kumbaga it’s a thorn off my chest.”

(So I always make sure that I am at peace with everyone in the industry because we cannot avoid times when we get in the way, step on people, and I always make sure I pray and of course,we’re not perfect but it’s a thorn off my chest.)

As for the possibility of working with KC, Piolo said: “Wala naman akong iniiwasan katrabaho. (I’m not avoiding working with anyone.) I’m all for what is good or what has potential box office or sa TV so I can definitely work with anyone.”

Asked if he and KC have talked more, Piolo said: “We had a good talk pero since then, di pa kami – I think she just got back from her vacation as well and wala pa naman communication.” (There’s been no communication so far.) – Rappler.com
