MANILA, Philippines – It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda took the opportunity to speak up on the show Saturday, October 24 regarding the competition between them and Eat Bulaga, which airs the famous love story of the AlDub tandem.

It’s Showtime celebrated their 6th anniversary at the ABS-CBN studio, while Eat Bulaga held their show at the Philippine Arena for the Tamang Panahon event of Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza. (AlDub’s ‘Tamang Panahon’: 10 unforgettable moments)

Vice admitted that he was not feeling well but that he was enthusiatic and happy because of the energy around them.

This is a day to be very grateful.’ (I’m very happy because  as I said in my tweet this morning This is a day to be very grateful.’ Really grateful for this day because 6 years is not a joke.)

(As time goes by quickly, with how quickly people want things, the trust of people, 6 years is quite something. And there were so many big changes around me, there was a big change in the world I move in, there were big changes that happened in my life.)

At ano man ang mangyari, wala akong nararamdamang sama ng loob, o galit, lungkot, ngitngit. Puro tuwa lang at pagpapasalamat kasi ang laking blessing talaga nitong Showtime,” Vice said.  (And no matter what happens, I have no ill feelings of anger or sadness. It’s all smiles and thank you for big blessing that Showtime gave.)

Vice recalled how he and the show’s hosts were against the idea of being up against Eat Bulaga. The show started as a morning talent show. However, their bosses assured them that they were not competiing with them but giving alternative entertainment.

Di ba? Kahit pagsama-samahin namin ang powers namin dito at magtitiwarik ho ako dito, di ho namin kayang talunin ang Eat Bulaga. (Right? Even if you join all our powers together and even if I do somersaults here, we cannot beat Eat Bulaga.)

Sasamahan niyo lang sila sa pagpapasaya ng tao.‘” (Our boss told us ‘Who told you that you’re going to beat Eat Bulaga? We are not putting you in the noontime show to beat Eat Bulaga. You will join them to make people happy.’)

Vice then said that from the beginning, they were never there to compete with the noontime show, knowing that they cannot compete with what Eat Bulaga has brought in the last 36 years.

(In the beginning, we know we lose. We’ve raised the flag to them because they are our idols and role models.)

Hindi namin matatalo ‘yan,” he added. (We cannot beat that.)

Vice said that in the end, people should not fight over who is number one in the noontime slot. He said that for as long as people want them on TV, they will be there even if people continue to criticize them.

(Please do not fight on social media. I’ve ment many people who lose friends on Facebook because they kept on fighting.)

(You don’t have to fight with anyone as to who is number one noontime show.)

Kaya dapat kayo rin, di kayo magkakaaway,” (The hosts of Showtime and hosts of Eat Bulaga are not enemies in real life. That’s why all of you should not fight at all.) Vice said. – Rappler.com
