Khloe receives backlash over her first interview after Lamar Odom's drug binge. Plus, more on what Khloe has to say about Lamar's recent headline-making health scare

MANILA, Philippines – Khloe Kardashian reacted on Twitter on Wednesday, October 28 to the backlash she received after her interview with People magazine – the first interview she’s given after her former husband, Lamar Odom’s recent health scare and reported drug binge.

Many of the comments on the preview of the article released online say that she did the interview for attention.

In her series of tweets, Khloe explained that she had agreed to do the interview and photo shoot with People months before Lamar’s accident, for her book tour. She clarified that she gave People a follow-up interview over the phone after the accident because “[she] was contracted to.”

On October 14, former NBA champion Lamar Odom was found fighting for his life in a Nevada brothel. After 3 days in a Las Vegas hospital, Lamar regained consciousness, and then was moved to a Los Angeles hospital, closer to his home.

Lamar and Khloe got married in 2009 and filed for divorce in 2013, though it was never finalized. The couple called off their divorce on October 21.

In her interview with People, Khloe spoke about getting news of Lamar’s condition on the day that the found him unconscious. “I had to get to him and make sure he was okay. I hate that he was in that situation. I wouldn’t want anybody in that situation, especially someone I love and care about,” she told People.

She also told People that in spite of calling off their divorce, the she doesn’t plan on getting back with Lamar. “There are too many other important things, too many medical things. It’s not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now.”

However, she added that she still loves him: “I don’t believe love is fickle. I believe when you love someone, you are allowed to love from afar. You don’t have to be with that person in order to love him.”

She also spoke about Lamar’s current condition, now that he’s awake: “The fact that he woke up was definitely a sigh of relief for everybody,” she said. “Every hour is different. It goes up and it goes down but he’s awake. He’s alive and that’s all I wanted, was for him to be okay.” – Rappler.com
