JM de Guzman posts apology, asks fans not to blame Jessy, ABS-CBN for his troubles
MANILA, Philippines - Actor JM de Guzman took to Instagram to speak up about his ongoing struggles, reaching out to fans in a social media post Saturday, November 14.
In a video he posted on Instagram, he said, “I lost control of myself again and I would like to apologize from the bottom of my heart. That was uncalled for. But I’m okay now.”
Revealing more details about JM's personal ordeal, the video was captioned “Please don’t blame Jessy (Mendiola) nor ABS-CBN and my All of Me family. I was going through very tough times, but by the grace of God. He guided me well and filled my heart with nothing but joy and peace. Again I sincerely apologize.
"Anxiety attacks and bipolar and depression. My occasional friends… Peace.”
The post is no longer visible on his Instagram page.
Fans grew concerned for JM after he challenged actor Enrique Gil to a mixed martial arts match on September 19. The challenge came after reports that Enrique disrespected JM’s then-girlfriend Jessy Mendiola on a flight to London. Enrique apologized after the incident.
Jessy received a lot of flak on social media after the breakup was confirmed. Many said that she was only dating JM to further her career. The actress replied to one of these comments on a November 11 post.
The commenter that Jessy replied to said that s/he hoped that Jessy won't go back to him once he's okay again. The comment said that someone with problems, like JM, can't be helped by someone who is selfish.
Jessy replied, saying that since people don't know everything that happened between her and JM, they shouldn't judge.
On November 12, JM posted this photo on Instagram, captioned “Hey dad, are you going to send me to rehab again?”
In 2014, JM admitted that he went to rehab for a drug problem. It was one of the reasons why he and Jessy broke up the first time.
Recently, JM also has not appeared on the show, All of Me, where he stars with Yen Santos and Albert Martinez. – Rappler.com
