Obama on his favorite ‘Game of Thrones’ character

MANILA, Philippines – It’s no secret that US President Barack Obama is a Game of Thrones fan, but he revealed his favorite character – and some of his habits pertaining to GoT – in an interview with GQ.

“My favorite character is probably… the dwarf, what’s his name?” Obama asked Bill Simmons. Obama was referring to Peter Dinklage’s character, Tyrion Lannister.

Obama then admitted that he has a hard time remembering all the names of the characters on the show, with one exception: “I remember the characters, so when I watch it, I know exactly what’s going on. But if you read a review of the show afterwards and they’re mentioning such and such, the only one I remember is Jon Snow, because I can pronounce Jon Snow.”

And on which character he thinks US presidential candidate Donald Trump might be, Obama says, “I don’t think any of them rise to that level.”

Trump has been making headlines, as his speeches and tweets have angered many. In June, Trump’s statements on Mexican immigrants drew criticism and controversy. Since then, Trump has been parodied by comedians on TV and the Internet alike.

GQ interviewed Obama for their “Men of the Year” 20th Anniversary issue.
