Maria, an actress and former adult film star, told Inquirer.net in an interview after the world premiere of Nilalang that she saw Angelica on Banana Split (now called Banana Sundae), a variety show that Angelica is a part of.

“The other day we had a show called Banana Split. And then she was there,” Maria recounted. “It was my first time in 10 years that I saw her. She’s like my doppelganger. She’s so sweet. I love her.”

Angelica saw the resemblance too, according to Maria. “She was like ‘Oh my God you’re my double… you are my double in life,’” Maria said.

The two also talked about working on a movie together in the future. “Definitely we had to be sisters. Actually we are talking if we could do something together,” said Maria.

In the past, Maria has admitted that she does look like the Angelica, based on the photos she’s seen.

She also said that many Filipino fans have approached her, asking if she was Angelica, and telling her that they look similar.

Nilalang is an entry in the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie is about corrupt Philippine cops, the yakuza, and a curse that may be responsible for killings in Manila. (READ: 8 entries revealed: MMFF 2015 movie lineup)
