On ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Amy, Sheldon finally achieve this major first

MANILA, Philippines – Every season, fans of The Big Bang Theory watch out for every relationship milestone of couple Amy and Sheldon.

In the most recent episode of the show, Amy and Sheldon finally have sex, after seasons of baby steps towards getting physical.

In the episode, “The Opening Night Excitation,” Sheldon decides to miss seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens on its opening night because it falls on Amy’s birthday. (READ: Movie Reviews: What critics are saying about ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’)

After choosing between 3 possible gifts for his girlfriend – a chance to play the harp with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, a trip to the Wisconsin Wool and Sheep Festival, and sex – the couple’s friends Penny and Bernadette convince him that the third is the best option.

Neither of the two have been in a previous relationship, but they’ve been a couple for more than 5 years on the show. Their relationship has progressed slowly over the seasons – Sheldon, who has a genius IQ, is uncomfortable with physical contact.

But after the deed is done, Sheldon admits, “Well I enjoyed that more than I thought I would,” before adding, “I look forward to your next birthday when we do it again.”
