WATCH: David Beckham, John Boyega in quick lightsaber duel

MANILA, Philippines – Star Wars fever is heating up, and even British football star David Beckham got swept by the craze as he and John Boyega crossed lightsabers on The Graham Norton Show.

In the episode, published on YouTube on Friday, December 18, Graham takes out two lightsabers – one blue and one red – for his guests, David and John. John plays Finn in the movie, a First Order stormtrooper. (WATCH: ‘Force Awakens’ cast sings epic a cappella ‘Star Wars’ medley)

“Have you done some sword training?” Norton asks David, who plays a small part in King Arthur, set for release in 2016.

“I have done some sword training,” admits David, at which point John stands up and takes a lightsaber.

“David Beckham,” bellows John as soon as the two get into position. “You have met your match!”

John swiftly crosses his lightsaber against David’s for a quick pose, then falls out of character, shaking David’s hand, saying, “I just wanted to meet you, mate.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is episode VII of the franchise, and was released in the Philippines on Thursday, December 17. (READ: The Force finally awakens as ‘Star Wars’ opens in cinemas)
