'A Second Chance' is the all-time highest grossing Filipino film
MANILA, Philippines – The sequel to One More Chance, Cathy Garcia-Molina's A Second Chance, is now the highest grossing Filipino film of all time, according to Star Cinema.
By Friday, December 18, the movie earned P556 million ($11.759 million) worldwide. It was released on November 25 and earned P43.3 million on its opening day. (READ: 'A Second Chance' earns P400M in 10 days – Star Cinema)
The movie that held the previous record was The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, starring comedian Vice Ganda.
A Second Chance follows characters Popoy and Basha from the classic One More Chance movie. Both movies star John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. The sequel is about the characters' marriage and the problems they encounter as they work through life as a married couple.
A Second Chance played in theaters for 4 weeks.
