WATCH: Matteo Guidicelli: Filming a series in Italy a dream come true
Matteo opens up about his plans for 2016, plus a bit about his experience shooting his upcoming series in Italy

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Matteo Guidicelli ended 2015 with a bang, kicking off his music career with his first album, music video, and concert.

On Thursday, January 6, Rappler caught up with Matteo and asked him what the new year has in store for him.

“This beginning of the year, we’re gonna start promoting the album, we’re gonna go around, start promoting the single and have our mall tours and everything,” said Matteo.

Matteo’s self-titled album was released for streaming on Spotify on November 21. On November 25th, he released his music video for “Ipapadama Na Lang” and he held his concert, MG1, on November 28.

Meanwhile, in between concerts, Matteo filmed a show with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil titled, Dolce Amore.

On December 14, Matteo flew out to Italy to shoot the show. On Instagram, the actor shared photos of himself making wishes at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, exploring Florence, and talking to the Italian press at Villa Benni in Bologna.

The trip was meaningful for Matteo, who was born in Cebu, but whose father is Italian. He said: “It was a dream come true, because I’m half Italian, and it was a dream for my family, for my grandfather actually, for me to do a show in Italy, or portray a character that’s Italian, to speak Italian on TV.”

Ciao Italia. Thanks for this awesome trip. I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason..

Like many of us, Matteo is hoping for better things ahead in 2016.

“Just make things bigger, you know bigger and better, and just continue doing things. I hope I can stay inspired, stay motivated throughout the way, and just use [the motivation and inspiration for] my work.”
