In Titanic, Leo and Kate play Jack and Rose, who meet on the ship and fall in love. The movie, directed by James Cameron, went on to win the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1998.

After the success of Titanic, Leo and Kate were able to work again in 2009’s Revolutionary Road, directed by Kate’s ex-husband Sam Mendes. They were nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively in the 2009 Golden Globes.

Although it’s been quite some time since they’ve worked together, the two have been in touch, with Leo even walking Kate down the aisle when she married husband Ned RocknRoll in 2012.

In an interview on Entertainment Tonight, Leo praised Kate, saying he would love to work with her again.

“She’s my favorite actress in the industry,” Leo said.

In return, Kate said before the awards ceremony that she was hoping her long-time friend would receive a recognition at the Golden Globes.

“I’m very excited for him. It could be him,” Kate told Entertainment Tonight“He’s very cool. He’s a pro. We’ve been through a lot together – we’ve grown up.”
