MANILA, Philippines – After confessing that they were finally a couple during their concert JaDine in Love last February 20, On The Wings of Love stars James Reid and Nadine Lustre sat down to talk more about their relationship for the first time.

Gretchen also asked about the kissing scenes the two did during the course of the show. James said that while he’s always in character, he told Nadine that some point, he was looking forward to doing the scenes.
“I always feel in character. I always do, but I just admitted to her just recently that for the past – how many months – whenever there was a kissing scene, I would always look forward to it… I was excited even more,” he said.
When asked about their favorite memories from the show, James shared that the scenes in Lake Tahoe were special for him.
“All the moments in Lake Tahoe. It was then that I was actually really in love with her, and it’s actually that gave me like a place to vent out… It really helped in growing to what it is now,” he said.

After the challenges he has been through last year, James said that he knew he was already falling in love with Nadine as they went on with the show.
“I went through a lot of stuff last year that I think grounded me and helped me realize what I want and what I need. And it turns out she was what I needed and she was always right there. I think I was blindsided by so many things,” he said.
“Turns out what I wanted is someone who I can be 100% myself with and who just understands you and makes your life easier. And with Nadine, I never liked her before, and I never imagined that we could ever be together in the future.”
“With Nadine, it’s different. She became my friend first before we fell in love. So it’s hard to say it’ like we do all the things you do with your friend, your best friend, buddies,” he said.

“It was very romantic… we were surrounded by wine bottles, kind of like a cellar. And I said ‘Bet you don’t know I could be like this?’ Because before I was never sweet to her. So it’s different when I’m being sweet… it’s different when I’m in love,” James said.
“And I thought I said ‘oh no! I shouldn’t have said that.’ I don’t want to say it. She asked ‘why are you in love? ‘ And then I said, ‘I am gonna say it ‘yes I am.'”
After a quiet moment, Nadine later on told him she liked him, too.
James also shared that he initially wanted to say it during their concert, while everyone – including his best friend, the ABS-CBN staff, and Viva Management – had no idea what he was up to.

Nadine, on the other hand, admitted she wanted to keep the relationship quiet, in spite of reports that they were already seen being affectionate to each other after their return from the US.
