Charice talks about working on a new album with tracks she has penned herself and about her new hairstyle

MANILA, Philippines – Charice shared that she is now in the process of making her new album.

In an interview with reporters after the Myx Music Awards 2016 on Tuesday, March 15, Charice said that she has been doing well so far, and is working on a new album with tracks she has penned herself.

Okay naman po. (I’m doing well.) Ginagawa ko ngayon yung (I’m doing a) new album with the help of Mayonnaise, whom I performed with earlier. And I’m very excited. Most of the songs are written by yours truly. All original songs, so sobrang excited ako because I’ve put my heart into it, so sana magustuhan nila (I hope they’ll like it),Charice said.

At the Myx Awards, Charice and Mayonnaise performed “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by ’90s grunge rock band Nirvana.

When asked if she’s just here on a vacation from the US, or back with new projects in the pipeline, Charice said that she is just focused on finishing her upcoming album.

“There are projects outside pero mas enjoy ko yung pagawa ng album sa ngayon,” Charice said.

(There are other projects outside, but I enjoy working on the album more right now.)

Charice, who is currently sporting a blonde hairstyle, said that she is just embracing her new look.

Hinahayaan ko lang siya. […] Hindi ko siya inaano kasi gusto ng iba tao. Hinahayaan ko siya na kung humaba siya, humaba siya. Kung feel na mag-paiksi uli, paiksi uli,” she said.

(I’m just letting it be. I’m not sporting this hairdo just because people like it. I’ll let it grow if I feel like it. If I feel like cutting it short, I’ll cut it.)

Aside from working on her new album, Charice is currently busy doing shows across the country.

She performed last year during David Foster’s tour in Manila, and also appeared as one of the performers during the dinner hosted by President Benigno Aquino III during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. – Rappler.com
