‘Maze Runner’ star Dylan O’Brien gets injured while filming

MANILA, Philippines – Dylan O’Brien, who stars as Thomas in the Maze Runner films is now doing okay after he was reportedly badly injured on the set of the 3rd film, The Death Cure.

James Dashner, the writer of the Maze Runner series, confirmed on Twitter that while Dylan was injured, it was “not life threatening in any way.” He also added that production has been postponed.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Worksafe BC, the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia in charge of investigating accidents that occur at work, had already looked into early reports that the Dylan was struck by a car during shooting, and had been in touch with the film’s studio and producers.

Earlier, a press release from 20th Century Fox quoted by Entertainment Weekly said, “Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada.”

“He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.”

His co-stars in the Maze Runner films and MTV’s Teen Wolf also wished him well.

TMZ earlier reported that the actor “suffered multiple broken bones.”

In the Maze Runner, Dylan plays Thomas who leads a band of survivors as they navigate a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
