Kim Chiu on getting over Gerald Anderson, friendship with Maja Salvador
MANILA, Philippines – Kim Chiu admitted that it took her a year and a half to recover from her breakup with ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson.
In an interview on Tonight With Boy Abunda Monday, March 21, Kim said she knew she got over the breakup with the help of the people around her. It also helped that on-screen partner and rumored boyfriend Xian Lim later entered in her life. The two are currently doing The Story of Us. "Siguro self-worth, self respect and then yung mga tao na nakapaligid sa akin. And yung mga sinasabi nila, and si Xian, dumating siya," she said. (READ: Xian Lim: My feelings for Kim Chiu grow everytime I see her)
(I guess self-worth, self-respect, and then the people around me. And what they told me, and of course Xian, he came into my life.)
Kim also clarified that contrary to what has been reported in the past, she was never angry with Maja Salvador when the latter became Gerald's new girlfriend. The two broke up last year. (READ: Maja Salvador on moving on from Gerald, rekindling friendship with Kim)
"Wala naman may kasalanan. Wala talaga. (No one is at fault.) It’s just the circumstances..." Kim said.
"Tampo, hindi galit. Ang lalim naman ng galit." (Tampo but not angry. Getting angry would be too much.)
When asked if she and Maja ever talked about what happened, Kim said no, saying she is not a confrontational person.
Kim, who is celebrating 10 years in the industry is preparing for her concert entitled Chinita Princess: The Funtasy Concert on April 9 at the Kia Theater.
Looking back since winning Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition, Kim said she's grateful for all that's happening to her.
"Kasi pangarap ko talagang mapanood sa TV e. And hanggang ngayon, isang dekada na napapanood ko pa rin ang sarili ko sa TV, masaya na ako doon," she said.
