'#AlDubEBSaTamangPanahon' recognized anew by Guinness World Records
MANILA, Philippines – Eat Bulaga's main event AlDub Sa Tamang Panahon last October 2015 has once again been recognized. The hashtag #AlDubEBSaTamangPanahon was cited among the Guinness Book of World Records' "5 key tweets that made record-breaking history" in celebration of Twitter's 10th anniversary last Monday, March 21. Other records that were mentioned include Caitlyn Jenner's, whose Vanity Fair cover gave her the "the fastest ever time to reach one million followers on Twitter," the Germany victory over Argentina match in the World Cup in 2014 as the record for "most tweets per minute," and Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar selfie in 2014 as "the most retweeted message."
AlDub is the name coined for the tandem of actor Alden Richards and rising star Maine Mendoza, who plays Yaya Dub, the nanny of Lola Nidora played by Wally Bayola in the so-called kalyeserye in the Eat Bulaga segment Juan for All, All for Juan. The pairing has gained a huge fan base on social media, as the fans followed a storyline culminating with their actual meeting.
Alden and Maine have also appeared in a movie, My Bebe Love, with Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai delas Alas, as well as in a number of endorsements.
