MANILA, Philippines – Along with her mom Jaclyn Jose, director Brillante Mendoza, and the group representing the Philippines at Cannes film festival 2016, actress Andi Eigenmann had a blast in France, sharing special moments with her fans on social media.
Andi, Jaclyn's daughter with the late actor Mark Gil, is also part of the cast of Brillante's film Ma' Rosa, and she proudly stood with her mom as Jaclyn accepted the best actress award for her role in the film. (IN PHOTOS: Jaclyn Jose's emotional Cannes 2016 win)
Glamorous Cannes is where many celebrities converge for one of the year's biggest and most important film festivals, and aside from press interviews, red carpet appearances, and photocalls, stars can sometimes have downtime to explore the beautiful surroundings in the French Riviera.
Last May 20, Vanity Fair named Andi one of their best dressed women at the film festival. She wore a white jumpsuit by Patty Ang for the film's press conference. (READ: Andi Eigenmann, other stars react to Jaclyn Jose's Cannes victory)
Received a warm welcome from the media yesterday at the photo call. I could not be amy more grateful for this experience. Big thanks to direk Brillante Mendoza for this opportunity. And to have had the chance to work alongside one of the country's best. My very own mother, Jaclyn Jose. I will most definitely cherish this moment forever. #DreamsDoCannesTrue As for this beautiful ensemble, thank you so much @pattyang_!!! Everybody LOVED it! I definitelg couldn't have rocked the press conference and the photo call in anything else.
Andi also wore a Boom Sason dress for the screening of Ma' Rosa. Here's the inspiring message she posted on Instagram:
I have had my fair share of great ups and downs in the 25 years of my existence in this beautiful world, and you see, nothing makes life way more interesting than when our dreams come true. Let me just steal a little "beauty queen" moment for myself to encourage women like me to never give up on their dreams. To make sure to never be afraid to dream BIG. Because yesterday, my life long dream has finally come true. And what's even sweeter is that it's only the beginning. Yes, it will never be easy, and yes, it will be very tough. Tough, to the extent that we would ask ourselves if it's time we give up. The key is to brush off all the negativity with your head held high because it will always come. And then we move on to focusing on the brighter things in life. These are what give life meaning. So just enjoy, and cherish every moment of the life you're given, because we will always fall. It's what we do about the opportunity to get back up once again, that matters most. I encourage all young women to spend our lives with positivity and love. To humbly and fearlessly live life for ourselves, because it is ours afterall. If I can do it, my dear, so can you. "Believe in yourself in all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle."- Christian D. Larson **Big thanks to @boomsason for making me feel my most beatiful on this very special fay for me!
Andi also posted some photos of her leisure time while in Cannes.
And of course, here's Andi with her mom before and during her win:
Andi is part of Brillante's movie Ma' Rosa, where she plays one of the children who tries to secure the freedom of their parents after being arrested for drugs by corrupt police. (READ: Filmmaker Brillante Mendoza holds up mirror to Philippines' dark side)
