The developers of Facebook Live also presents Candace Payne, aka 'Chewbacca Mom,' with a special plaque for helping them achieve a company milestone with her viral video

MANILA, Philippines – Candace Payne, now famous by the name “Chewbacca Mom,” has taken the Internet by storm. Her Facebook live video showing her having a hearty laugh with a Chewbacca mask, which she bought as a birthday gift for herself, has been viewed around 140 million times, and since then, her world has never been the same.

Now, she’s going places – literally.

Lately, she got to fly to Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California, USA. As seen in photos posted by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, she got to bike and drink coffee with the furry Wookie from Star Wars.

She was also presented a plaque that said, “Facebook Star, Candace Payne,” and behind her in a video beamed from the HQ, the developers of the Facebook Live feature. It was, after all, a milestone not only for Candace, but for the company as well.

“You rarely get to see that’s there actual people here that do an incredible job at what they do,” Candace said, requesting viewers to send a barrage of applause emojis their way.

“I’m so grateful for what’s happening, both from you that are watching and from this group right here,” she pointed to the developers behind her. “What’s happening now wouldn’t even be possible without both people.”

“If it really is the simple joys,” she said, referring to the caption of her original viral video, “get in on this one because I don’t think I’ll ever have this one again. It’s amazing. This is serendipity at its finest.”

Earlier, she also broadcasted a Facebook video from the Lucasfilm headquarters – the makers of Star Wars – where she was flabbergasted by the moment. She even expressed her amazement to see the Yoda fountain in front.

“My world is officially the weirdest thing in the galaxy,” she said. “It may be a galaxy far, far away, but I don’t even care. It is still the weirdest, surreal thing. It is not lost on me that this is because of you guys. I love you. Thanks for joining my journey.”

Candace also recently appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, among her other TV guestings, and there, she got a huge surprise from the Star Wars actor himself playing Chewbacca, Peter Mayhew. – Rappler.com
