[WATCH] Encantadia 2016: Sang’gres unleash their powers in promo video

MANILA, Philippines – The reboot of hit fantaserye Encantadia has unveiled the sang’gres in their costumes made by fashion designer Francis Libiran – looking all regal and mighty in a GMA 7 promotional video which previews and showcases the upcoming shows for the network’s 66th year.

Pirena (Glaiza de Castro), Amihan (Kylie Padilla), Alena (Gabbi Garcia), and Danaya (Sanya Lopez) unleash their powers – showing their mastery of their respective elements. Rocco Nacino as Aquil and Ruru Madrid as Ybarro also make an appearance in the short clip.

Director Mark Reyes branded the upcoming reboot series as a “requel,” or a retelling of the Encantadia saga. He said at NexCon 2016 last April, as quoted by GMA News: “It’s based on the mythology of Encantadia, but we’re going to fix things that we thought needed fixing in the original run.”

“There are a lot of things that will be familiar and that will feel nostalgic, but there will be new twists and characters that will surprise viewers,” he continued. – Rappler.com
