MANILA, Philippines – Tyrese Gibson has spoken up about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s comments about his “unprofessional” male co-stars on Fast 8. (READ: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson calls out ‘Fast and Furious 8’ male co-stars)

Tyrese posted a video on Instagram of Dwayne singing happy birthday to Tyrese’s daughter Shayla.

In the caption, Tyrese acknowledged fans’ speculation as to who Dwayne was referring to in his post. “Why are you guys so impressionable? A man wouldn’t be singing from his heart and soul to another man’s little angel if he had a problem with her dad,” he said.

He continued: “Do any of us know why bro decided to jump out there with his post? No… Would one assume that if he’s going to jump out there and generalize and say ‘male co-stars’ he would be more clear and call out names? Of course he should of.

“Let me calm you guys all the way down… I don’t know who he has a problem [with] and I don’t have any details of what those problems are – as a matter of fact if I did know I would tell you sh-t!!!”

Tyrese then mentioned the late Paul Walker, who starred in 6 out of the 7 The Fast and The Furious movies that have been released. Paul died in a car accident in 2013.

“I’m personally not doing this for anyone but my brother Paul Walker,” Tyrese shared. “This franchise is not about and has never been about anyone of us individually it’s about the #FASTFAMILY – the tribe.”

The actor then assured that he, Dwayne, and the Fast 8 cast were all on good terms: “I think Dewayne aka DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth, and professional people I’ve ever worked with and more importantly he’s my brother we have never had a problem and will never have a problem… We are good over here…. As a cast we’re all married d-mmit!”

Tyrese has since deleted the Instagram post.

The Rock explains

A few days after his first post about his co-stars, Dwayne sent out another message on social media, thanking Fast 8‘s stunt team, led by stunt coordinator JJ Perry.

The Thursday, August 11 post did not mention unprofessional co-stars or his previous post, but in the caption, Dwayne spoke about conflict and teamwork.

“You guys reading this know how much I believe in the idea of team effort,” wrote Dwayne. “That means respecting every person, their time and their value when they step on to my set or partner with our production company.

“And like with any team – that’s a family – there’s gonna be conflict. Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs. To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it. At the end of the day me and [Fast 8] co-stars all agree on the most important thing: delivering an incredible movie to the world.”

My FINAL WEEK of shooting #FastAndFurious. There’s no greatness ever achieved alone.. it’s always a team effort. We promised an epic prison break out for you guys and we delivered. HUGE THANK YOU to my ohana (family) stunt coordinator JJ Perry and his bad ass fearless stunt team – as well as my cousin and incredible stunt double @samoanstuntman. Thank you team for the willingness to “die hard” and drop your blood & sweat daily for our movie. #MyStuntBrothers #Loco4Life You guys reading this know how much I believe in the idea of TEAM EFFORT. That means respecting every person, their time and their value when they step on to my set or partner with our production company. And like with any team – that’s a family – there’s gonna be conflict. Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs. To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it. At the end of the day me and #F8 co-stars all agree on the most important thing: Delivering an incredible movie to the world. #Fast8 #IcemanCometh #FamilyGrowth

In his first post on Tuesday, Dwayne said that while Universal and his female co-stars were great to work with, some of his male co-stars were unprofessional.

“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh-t to do anything about it anyway. Candy -sses,” he wrote, adding, “When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.”

Dwayne did not mention anyone by name. His male co-stars on Fast 8, though TMZ reported that he was referring to Vin Diesel

Aside from Tyrese and Vin, Dwayne other male co-stars include Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Lucas Black, Jason Statham, and Kurt Russell. – Rappler.com
