Dwayne Johnson addresses ‘Fast 8’ ‘conflict’

On Thursday, August 11, a few days after that post, Dwayne took to Instagram once again to clear the air.

His video and message on social media thanked Fast 8‘s stunt team, led by stunt coordinator JJ Perry. The post did not mention unprofessional co-stars or his previous post, but in the caption, Dwayne spoke about conflict and teamwork.

“You guys reading this know how much I believe in the idea of team effort,” wrote Dwayne. “That means respecting every person, their time and their value when they step on to my set or partner with our production company.

“And like with any team – that’s a family – there’s gonna be conflict. Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs. To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it. At the end of the day me and [Fast 8] co-stars all agree on the most important thing: delivering an incredible movie to the world.”

In his first post on Tuesday, Dwayne said that while Universal and his female co-stars were great to work with, some of his male co-stars were unprofessional.

“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh-t to do anything about it anyway. Candy -sses,” he wrote, adding, “When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.”

Tyrese Gibson was the only Fast 8 actor to respond to Dwayne’s post, saying, “I think Dewayne aka DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth, and professional people I’ve ever worked with and more importantly he’s my brother we have never had a problem and will never have a problem… We are good over here…. As a cast we’re all married d-mmit!”

Tyrese has since deleted his Instagram message.

Dwayne didn’t mention any names in the post, causing people to speculate as to which of his co-stars he was referring to, with TMZ reporting that Dwayne was talking about Vin Diesel.

Aside from Tyrese and Vin, Dwayne other male co-stars include Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Lucas Black, Jason Statham, and Kurt Russell. – Rappler.com
