Rita Gabiola on plans after ‘PBB,’ ‘bullying’ incident

MANILA, Philippines – Ex Pinoy Big Brother housemate Rita Gabiola dropped by Tonight With Boy Abunda on Tuesday, September 6, after she was evicted Sunday night from Kuya’s house. 

In the interview, host Boy Abunda asked if she felt she was bullied inside the house, after an episode wherein the housemates made fun of her clothes while she was washing the dishes.

The said episode made headlines a few weeks ago, when Albay representative Joey Salceda called out how she was being treated inside the house by the other teens.

“Hindi ko po alam kung na-bully [ako] o nag-react lang,” she said.

(I really don’t know if I was bullied or I just reacted.)

“Kasi ako, hindi ko pa alam na strap ng bra ko iyon kasi naghuhugas po ako ng mga plato, iyong pinagkainan namin, madumi. Iyong mga babae at lalaki nandoroon, nakasampay. Hindi ko alam kung akin iyon.”

(Because for me, I did not know it was the strap of my bra [they were holding] because I was washing plates, the ones we ate on which were dirty. The girls and boys were there, it was hung there. I did not know if it was really mine.)

Rita said she put down what she was washing and then took the garment from them, saying she felt embarassed, especially with the boys. 

“Tahimik lang ako sa paghuhugas tapos bigla kong kinuha nang wala akong sinasabi. Parang nahiya po kasi ako sa mga boys kasi strap po ng bra ko iyong pinaglalaruan,” she said.  

(I was quiet when I was washing the dishes when I grabbed without saying anything. I felt really embarassed with the boys because they were playing with the strap of my bra.)

Despite her short stay inside the house, Rita said that she has learned so much, with Kuya telling her to be always be happy, courageous, and not to be shy. 

She was also asked how her life changed after her photo went viral on social media. Rita initially admitted that she did not believe it and thought that the police were going to arrest them. 

Now that she’s back outside Kuya’s house, Rita said that would love to enter showbiz as it was one of her dreams. 

“Pangarap ko mag-artista pero gusto ko po sila pagsabayin kasi yung pag-aaral ko. Para habang nag-aaral ako ay natutulungan ko na rin po iyong mga magulang ko,” she said.
