Comedian Joy Viado dies
MANILA, Philippines – Comedian Joy Viado died on Saturday, September 10 due to a heart attack. She was 57.
The news was confirmed by Joy's best friend Annette Lucido, according to ABS-CBN. Annette said that Joy died at 8:55 pm and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
In an interview on DZMM, Joy's son Joseph Christopher shared that his mom was having a hard time breathing when she arrived from a friend's house.
"Galing siya sa bahay ng kaibigan niya, at pag-uwi niya ay medyo nahihirapan na siyang huminga," he said.
(She got home from a friend's house and when she arrived, she was already having a hard time breathing.)
"Tapos nung tinakbo namin siya sa hospital, sa kotse pa lang eh talagang nahihirapan na siya. Sa hospital, sinubukan i-revive pero [dead on arrival]."
(And then after that we rushed her to the hospital, but she was really having difficulty already breathing. They tried to revive her in the hospital but [she was dead on arrival].)
According to Joseph, his mom's wake will be at the Arlington Memorial Chapels.
Before her death, Joy also suffered from diabetes.
Aside from being a comedian, Joy is also a singer. She appeared in various shows such as Kokey@Ako and Luv U. Her most recent appearance was in Dear Uge starring Eugene Domingo.
She also appeared in movies such as Cinco, Desperadas 2, Zsazsa Zaturnnah and My Illegal Wife. – Rappler.com
