Early on Monday, September 12, Kris said that she would be working on a TV project with Antonio P Tuviera (APT), Inc, a subsidiary of Television And Production Exponents Philippines (TAPE) Inc.
Both produce shows for GMA, with APT producing their Lenten Specials and TAPE producing the long-running afternoon variety show Eat Bulaga!.
In a statement to ABS-CBN News later that day, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications Kane Errol Choa said there is no bad blood between them and Kris, who worked with them for 20 years.
"We thank Kris for the many years that she has been a Kapamilya bringing joy, hope, and inspiration to our viewers worldwide. She will always be a Kapamilya and we wish her well in her new journey," he said.
In her September 12 announcement, she said that she spoke to ABS-CBN executives following her vacation and the election season: "We spoke in July but there was no definite show and no assured time frame of my return on air," wrote Kris.
It was then that Kris' manager and friend Boy Abunda reached out to APT.
Kris herself assured that there is no bad blood between her and her former network, saying that she will be staying at an apartment rented from Manolo Lopez when she gets back from her family vacation.
Manolo owns the Lopez Holdings Corporation, which holds their investments in companies like ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp, which is headed by his nephew, Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III.
According to her recent recent social media posts, Kris is currently in Tokyo with her two sons. – Rappler.com
