''Yung mindset ko is mas energized, mas motivated to work harder,' Sarah says of her showbiz vacation

MANILA, Philippines – Sarah Geronimo said that she’s ready and raring to get back to work after a short break from showbiz commitments.

In an interview with reporters during the Manulife event at Museo Pambata on Tuesday, September 27, Sarah said that she’s taking the advantage of the break given to her.

“Yes. Kasi limited din lang naman yung time na bininigay sa iyo na free day, so it’s better to make the most out of it,” she said.

(Yes, because you’re only given limited free time, so it’s better to make the most of it.)

During her break, Sarah was spotted with a few companions, including boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli, hiking in Mt. Pico de Loro, and whale shark-watching in Oslob, Cebu. She also took time off to do other activities, such as pole dancing lessons with Ciara Sotto.

Last June, Sarah told ABS-CBN that she was taking a break for health reasons. Now that she had some time outside of her career, is she ready to return to work?

“Yes, 100% na.

Yung mindset ko is mas energized, mas motivated to work harder.

(My mindset is I’m more energized, more motivated to work harder.)

Kasi, dumarating din  sa stage ng buhay natin, like I mentioned earlier ano ba yung purpose ko bakit ko ito ginagawa, ano pa yung kulang.

(Because, you also reach the stage of your life, like what I mentioned earlier, what’s my purpose in doing this, what’s still missing.)

“And then, I realized na you don’t do this parang or you don’t work for other people, to please them para mapuno ang concert venue mo, para maging super hit lahat ng songs mo. Hindi, e.

(And then I realized that you don’t do this, or like you don’t work for other people, to please them just to fill a concert venue, for all your songs to be super hits. No. )

Ang pinakaimportante pala sa lahat or yung main goal mo dapat is to share whatever you have, whatever talento na binigay sa iyo, regardless kaunti siya or ‘sangkatutak. Ang importante is to glorify Him, kung ano yung ginagawa mo sa buhay, ” she said.

(What’s most important, what should be the main goal, is to share whatever you have, whatever talent that was given to you, regardless of whether it’s a little or a lot. What’s important is to glorify him, what you’re in life.)

Sarah also proudly shared that she had no stunt double when she made the commercial for Manulife, showing her inside a cave and climbing a peak in Tanay, Rizal.

When asked about her projects, Sarah said that she’s concentrating on promoting her album. She even performed one of her songs, “Tala,” at the event.

Outreach programs

Asked what she wants to do next aside from showbiz, Sarah said that she wants to do more charity work, especially going to the mountains and meeting those who live there.

Gusto ko pang ma-experience na umakyat ng bundok and makita yung mga kababayan natin dun, yung culture nating mga Pilipino kung paano ba talaga, and yung lifestyle nila,” Sarah said.

(I really want to experience to go up to the mountains and see our fellow countrymen there, the Filipino culture we have there and how it is, and the lifestyle they have.)

At saka kung anuman ‘yung nalalaman ko ay sana maibahagi ko doon,” she added.

(And whatever I know, I hope to share it with them.) – Rappler.com
