Rosanna Roces admits bringing women to Bilibid

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Rosanna Roces has denied she was a mistress of an alleged drug lord serving time in the New Bilibid Prison but admitted that she brought women into the national state penitentiary.

Roces made the statement after her name was mentioned at the House probe into the proliferation of illegal drugs NBP during the previous administration.

On her Facebook page, Roces, real name Jennifer Adriano Cruz, said that she was never a mistress of Vicente Sy, one of the high-profile prisoners inside the NBP. However, she admitted to bringing in girls inside the compound.

“Paanong magiging mistress [ako] eh babae ang dinadala ko ke Enteng. Kada hatid ko ng babae ay 25k ang binibigay sa akin. Kahit na reject pa ang babaeng dalhin ko. Kung naging mistress ako di sana nabayaran ko ang 2 m[illion] na talo ko sa kaso sa GMA; Di na sana ako nagpapakahirap magtrabaho ngayon. Baka producer na ako” Roces wrote.

(How can I be a mistress when I brought women to Enteng? I got P25,000 for each woman I bring, even if they get rejected. If I were really a mistress, then I would have already gotten the P2 million I lost in my case with GMA; I wouldn’t be working so hard now. I would’ve been a producer by now.)

Roces continued: “Hindi droga ang business ko sa Bilibid. Monterey – taga-deliver ng karne. Isang tao lang ang kausap ko dun. Yung sinasabi nilang si Vicente Sy. Madaling magtahi ng kwento pero mahirap ang magpatunay.”

(My business in Bilibid is not drugs [but] ‘Monterey’ – I deliver ‘meat.’ I talk to one person there, the one they call Vicente Sy. It’s easy to weave a tale but it’s hard to prove it.)

Roces also admitted that she has performed inside the prison together with the likes of April Boy Regino and Selina Sevilla. It was there that she met another prisoner, Jaybee Sebastian, who was alleged to have collected money for Senator Leila de Lima inside the NBP for her 2016 campaign kitty. “Dun ko na meet si Jaybee Sebastian dahil na interview ako o nahingian ng mensahe sa kanyang BTV o Bilibid TV. Other than that wala na akong naging dahilan para bumalik. Lalo na nung ang huling nadala ko palang babae ay maysakit,” Roces said. 

(That’s where I met Jaybee Sebastian because I was interviewed or I was asked to give a message for his BTV or Bilibid TV. Other than that, I have no reason to go back there. Especially when the last woman I brought there turned out to be sick.) 

During the House hearing on Thursday, October 6, Nonito Arile, one of the inmates who was presented as a witness, alleged that Roces was a mistress of Sy. 

“Kabit niya ang artista na si Rosanna Roces, alyas Osang (His mistress is the actress Rosanna Roces, alias Osang),” Arile told the congressmen at the hearing.

Arile is a former policeman convicted for kidapping and murder. The House of Representatives  granted him immunity from suit for anything he woud say at the congressional inquiry. – Rappler.com
