Tricia Centenera opens up about split with Gab Valenciano
Tricia says that she and Gab are negotiating a settlement and may file for divorce soon

MANILA, Philippines – Tricia Centenera has opened up about her split with Gab Valenciano.

In an interview with Pep, Tricia confirmed that Gab cheated on her and shared that they are currently negotiating a settlement for their property.

“We’re in the middle of in-negotiations for settlement,” Tricia told Pep. “We got married in the States. We actually didn’t get married in the Philippines. We had wedding celebrations here, but there’s no legal documents of us being married here, so we got married in America. Which kind of makes it tricky because to file for divorce, we need to be there, or one of us need to be there.”

Gab and Tricia got engaged in 2014 and wed in March 2015. They had two wedding celebrations in the Philippines – one in Tagaytay and another in Boracay. They were also wed in the States.

Gab is set to travel to the US in October for a concert with his dad, Gary Valenciano.

“I said to him, ‘You wanted this. If that’s what you want, you need to go and file those papers,'” said Tricia. “Because we haven’t even filed for separation yet. So, we just kind of getting over all the shock.”

Before talking about the divorce, Tricia also spoke about Gab, who had earlier reportedly cheated on her: “He has confessed and he agrees that he went about it in a really bad way.”

“People make mistakes and I’m a firm believer in giving people a second chance,” she said later. “Gab got quite a few [second chances]. And at the end of the day, he just didn’t want to be in a marriage.”

She also said that Gab apologized for what he did: “He did say sorry. The girl’s parents, who he cheated with, they apologized to me as well.”

Gab has not spoken up about the split.

A source close to the couple told Rappler in September that although there were rumors of alleged infidelity and money issues, these were not the ultimate reasons for their split.

A series of tweets from Tricia in August about cheaters and being hurt sparked the initial rumors about the split. – Rappler.com
