MANILA, Philippines – Ruffa Gutierrez is an actress, beauty queen, philanthropist, producer, and endorser, and now author, with the release of her book Truth and Lies My Mother Told Me.
In an interview with reporters during the book launch on Tuesday, November 29, Ruffa said that she partly wrote the book to serve as a reminder for her two daughters – Lorin and Venice.
“I told them that I was dedicating it to them and I want them to learn from my mistakes, I want them to learn from my journey in life,” Ruffa said.

Ruffa said the book was already in the works but it took a while for it to come out because she was busy with other ventures. She also had to revisit some of the most painful moments in her life.

“Marami akong natutunan sa nanay ko especially now that my girls are 12 and 13. I always say nga na tama pala yung paghihigpit ni Mommy. Maybe she expresses it herself in a way na minsan hindi ko naiintindihan and minsan nagkakaroon kami ng mga sagutan, but I know she has the best interest in heart for me. Alam ko she wants the best for me,” she said.

As for her personal life, Ruffa said that she’s in a great place. She is currently in a relationship with businessman Jordan Mouyal.
“I’m happy in love. I’m balanced. I think when you fall in love, it should be balanced. Pangit naman ang isa pag-ibig na you and me against the world. Hindi na uso iyon. Kailangan the love of your life should fit in to your life as well. Syempre may mga anak ako, may career ako. Hindi naman pwede puro love, love, love kasi wala kang makain sa table… everything has to be balanced,” she said.
