MANILA, Philippines – The boys of One Direction have offered their thoughts and prayers to support bandmate Louis Tomlinson after his mother’s death.

Louis’ mom, Johannah Deakin, died of leukemia on Wednesday, December 7.

The boys took to social media to comfort Louis, even though they’re apart – the band is currently on hiatus.

On Twitter, Liam Payne posted a note to Louis that read: Louis, I’m so sorry for you my brother, my heart aches for you. Just know I love you the same from a million miles away as I do right next to you. I’m always here for you through everything as you have been for me.

“My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this incredibly sad time. I can’t begin to imagine what you are all going through. Rest in peace, Johanna, you are forever in my thoughts.”


 

Niall Horan tweeted: “Very sad news. Louis, I love you mate and I’m/all of us are here for you all the way. You’re mum was an incredible person. Thinking of you and your family. Love from my family to yours.”


 


 

Zayn Malik, who left the group in March and has since released a solo album, also tweeted his support. Zayn and Louis have had disagreements on social media in the past.

“Love you bro! All of your family is in my prayers. Proud of your strength and know your mum is too,” Zayn told Louis.



X Factor creator Simon Cowell and former X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said a few words on social media too.
