Isabela Vinzon performs 'Feeling Good' for the coaches

MANILA, Philippines – The daughter of actor Roi Vinzon has joined The Voice Teens in the hopes of making her name as a singer.

On Sunday, April 16, Isabela Vinzon performed the song “Feeling Good,” and got a two-chair turn from coaches Sharon Cuneta and Bamboo.

“Siya po ‘yung inspiration ko,” Isabela said of her father who was present during the blind auditions. “Gusto ko din po maging kagaya niya, kasi gusto ko din po makita sa TV, pero bilang isang singer.”

(He’s my inspiration. I want to be like him, because I want to be seen on TV, but as a singer.)

A beaming Roi watched Isabela and even joked around with host Luis Manzano on the sidelines.

“Alam naman natin lahat si Sir Roi, sa lahat ng mga pelikula, mga bida niya nanggugulpi iyan… mga resbak ng mga resbak. Ganyan katindi iyan. Pero kanina, habang kumakanta si Lala (Isabela’s nickname), sabi niya sa akin, ‘Thank you!'” Luis said in a squeaky voice.

(We all know that Sir Roi, in his movies, his roles always require beating someone up. That’s how it is. But a while ago, while Lala was singing, he told me, “Thank you!”)

Bamboo told Isabela that he is a “soldier of music” and that she will have his full attention if she picks him to be her coach.

Sharon, meanwhile, told Isabela: “He’s (Bamboo) really a good soldier of music. But I came well before he did. I am the commander-in-chief over here.

“Coach Bamboo is a terrific coach, he really is. Truth be told, kahit sino naman sa amin dalawa ang mapili mo, meron kami mai-impart (whoever you’ll choose, we have something to impart to you),” she added.

Isabela eventually chose Bamboo, making her the first teen under Kamp Kawayan.

Before joining The Voice Teens, Isabela signed up with Viva in 2015. She recorded a song titled “Yada Yada” under Viva Records.

Known for his character roles in movies and on TV, Roi will be part of GMA’s upcoming show Mulawin vs Ravena. – Rappler.com
